Well, today we took the girls to see the pope. We left our car at 2pm and did not return to it until 6pm. Despite the four hour span, both girls behaved very well. I was quite proud of them. Overall it was a gorgeous day - sunny with a high in the mid 60s. Unfortunately with the sun beating down, it could feel much warmer and James and I are already seeing some sunburn on our faces and on his arms. Fortunately Felicity was covered from head to toe with a thin onesie and Cecilia had on long sleeves and pants so neither of the girls should have much if any.

At one point we were about 5 people from the front but could not see anything well. We moved further back and could actually see better. It was also less crowded which let Cecilia roam a bit and gain a nice collection of sticks.

Around 5:25 or so, our Holy Father arrived. Here was my favorite shot:

Yep - the pope is the blur of white behind some woman's hand. LOL.

Okay, Okay, here is the picture you really want to see:

Not bad for a camera raised over my head, zoomed as much as possible while holding a 5 month old

  1. I love the first picture of you with the two girls. They may not remember this day, but you'll be able to tell them about it and it will be meaningful to them I know.
