One of Those Days

I struggled for an hour this morning getting Felicity back to sleep after she woke up before 5am. After which, I was too awake to go back to sleep and thought I would just get a head start on the day. Cecilia woke up at 6:20. Felicity woke up again at 6:30. Fortunately James got her back to sleep.

The rest of the morning was fairly calm, peaceful and uneventful. If only the afternoon had stayed that way.

I took Felicity upstairs for her nap and as I was trying to get her to sleep, I hear, "MomMom! MomMom! MomMom!" I wait a minute to see if it really is important as sometimes she calls me just to help her pull off her sock or rearrange the pillows. "MomMom! MomMom!" MomMom!" So I leave Felicity in her crib and come down stairs. Cecilia says she needs a "tushie change." "I squeegie." Sure enough, her diaper was full.....and overflowing down her leg. She apparently discovered this with her fingers and had spread it on both hands, both thighs and even to her neck. So Felicity screamed upstairs while I did a major cleanup on aisle Cecilia. Then spot shotted the spots I could find on the carpet. I returned to Felicity and got her asleep.

She slept only an hour before waking up. While I was trying to get her asleep, again I hear, "MomMom! MomMom! MomMom!" this time more of a cry. So I just carry Felicity downstairs and discover Cecilia had cut her hand playing on the deck. Since then we've been cleaning it, soaking it in warm water, and rubbing it after she pulled off the Winnie the Pooh bandage I had put on it. Felicity is now overtired, Cecilia is sore and cranky.

In my defense, I've yet to yell or snap or cry ...    but I am counting down for this day to be over.

For the record though, with this nice Autumn weather.....I MISS THE TEXAS STATE FAIR!!! :(
