Of course most baby's first words are "mama" and "dada." It is pretty expected. Felicity has been saying "mama" and "dada" for a few months now and knows what they mean. But I am always curious what the word after those two will be. That is where it gets interesting.
Cecilia's third word was "done," which she declared after she had finished eating.
Maybe time is just flying by too fast but I wasn't expecting Felicity's so soon.
And you will never never never guess what her third and fourth words were:
She said it four or five times. Surprisingly clearly for 14 month old. Cecilia had been begging to watch Donald Duck and said his name several times. Like with regards to so many other things, Felicity wanted to be like her big sister and so began saying it too. Did she know what it meant? Probably not. But I did get out a picture of Donald Duck and point it out and say it to her several times to make sure she knew for what she was asking.
Needless to say, after that, I had to put on some Donald Duck cartoons.
UPDATE: I have to correct myself. Felicity definately knows what she is talking about. This evening I was reading her Eric Carle's Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and as soon as I got to the page with the Yellow Duck, she immediately pointed her finger in the middle of the page and, clear as a bell, said, "Duck!" Not "Donald Duck," mind you, but, "Duck." So she certainly knows what a duck is and who Donald Duck is.
