I am praying Elizabeth is just having a growth spurt and not getting sick. She is nearing 3 months. She wanted to nurse every two hours last night. ... ... ... I'm tired.
I am hoping this is the end of the 80-degree weather.
I am thinking It's almost Autumn! It's almost Autumn! It's almost Autumn!!! (Can you guess what my favorite season is?)
I am thankful for healthy children.
Cecilia is examining a cricket she found in the basement.
Felicity is "helping" Daddy with the laundry.
Elizabeth is sitting in my lap getting fussy.
I am reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (Pg. 122), The Pursuit of Happiness - God's Way by Pinckaers (halfway through chapter 5), and The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan (on chapter 2).
I am listening to Cecilia declare she is going to "beat [the cricket] with a stick." She knows mommy does not like bugs in the house, though I don't think she realizes I have no objection to just throwing the cricket outside.
At home this week is a little cleaning, some cooking, some learning, some sewing, a few DVDs, lots of reading, some chaos, but a lot of love and smiles.
This week it is my mom's birthday on Saturday - Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma! It is also the anniversary of my dog's death on Tuesday. I can't believe I lost him 4 years ago. I was 5 months pregnant with Cecilia. He was a great dog and is still missed. Cecilia has seen his pictures and asks to see him. I will also be inquiring which might be a good orchard to take the girls apple-picking. And of course, I continue sewing away at my quilt squares.
This week's saints include St. Matthew (21st; Patron of Accountants, Guards, and Stock Brokers), St. Pio of Pietrelcina (23rd), Sts. Cosmas and Damien (26th; Patron of Barbers, Blind People, Doctors, Hairdressers, Midwives, Pharmacists), and Our Lady of Mercy, also known as Our Lady of Ransom (24th).
Hope everyone has a blessed week!
