Seven Quick Takes

Due to our moving soon and all the packing, I couldn't celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart or the Feast of the Immaculate Heart like I would have liked to. But I had to do something. Of course, at the store, there was nothing with any heart-shaped anything to it. But strawberries are red and shaped like hearts, so I ran with that. I also got a small plain cake in case anyone didn't want strawberries. Everyone seemed to enjoy their treat in honor of Jesus' and Mary's hearts.

My "Easter" lilies are finally blooming! At least we get to see them before we move! (I actually have doubts that the people who will be living here after us are Christian, so I'm happy I may be able to give them a proper Christian welcome with Easter Lilies.

On Saturday we went to a baby shower, as I mentioned earlier this week. I had a few pictures to share from it. Felicity made herself comfortable among the adults in the child chair.

Cecilia made some new friends and recruited them to play with her. I don't know if she ever did learn the name of the young boy playing with her here but she got him to push her on the swing and play with her quite a bit. She makes friends wherever she goes.

Once we set Elizabeth loose in the house she was on cloud nine. She wandered all over smiling that beautiful smile at everyone and declaring her joy. (She also discovered empty plastic water bottles made for great chewing.)

Long awaited Toy Story 3 comes out today. We are going to try to take the girls to see it on Saturday. I'll let you know what we think of it next week.

I just found the trailer to the continuing Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing that one. I can't figure out how to embed that one here, so I recommend going to the website and watching it. Sorry.

This year, as summer approaches, we bought the girls modesty swim suits. The girls love them and I feel so much more comfortable with them in these. I heartily recommend them.

For summer, we also got this beach ball that sprays water in multiple directions. The girls love it and we don't have to water the lawn!

Our pool is already packed so at least this way they get to enjoy some water outside despite all the packing.

  1. Love your Easter Lilies! It's great how you're starting your girls early on modesty. I, too, wanted to buy modest swimsuits for my dd years ago, but had to go with Lands End swimshorts & swimshirt (also modest) instead because the cost was less. My dd (now 17) does not get swayed by the culture and still prefers to dress modestly. Thanks be to God!

  2. Oh my goodness! This was the baby shower I was asking about. The boy your daughter played with is the son of our lil' guy's godparents! How funny!
