A Blessed 3rd Birthday, Felicity Catherine

How sweet to my taste is your promise! ~Ps119
(Liturgical Psalm for November 19th, 2010)

It is hard to believe 3 years have passed.

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the lands! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD is God! It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him, bless his name! For the LORD is good; his mercy endures for ever, and his faithfulness to all generations. ~Ps 100
Morning Prayer, November 19th, 2010

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place; and he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near.
John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne.
To the angel of the Church in Ephesus write: 'The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands, I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear evil men but have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and found them to be false; I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember then from what you have fallen, repent and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. ~ Rev. 1:1-4, 2:1-5

The First Liturgical Reading, November 19th, 2007

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields is fruit in its season, and its lead does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. ~PS 1:1-4, 6

Liturgical Psalm, November 19th, 2007

For her birthday, Felicity insisted she wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and Cinderella on top. She is my princess girl and Cinderella is her favorite. I went to the place that made our wedding cake and they did an amazing job with this simple but beautiful and delicious cake.

Felicity was so eager to blow out her candle, she didn't wait until we had sung Happy Birthday. She was very embarrassed when it drew laughs, but she sat quietly while we re-lite the candle and sang Happy Birthday to her. Then she was so timid about blowing out the candle it took her a few tries, but she did it.

Cecilia had been petitioning Felicity for days to let her open a birthday present. Then it was to let her open two presents. She got Felicity to consent to letting her open as many as four presents. She opened five before I stopped her, but Felicity didn't mind.

Of course, Grandpa went straight for the books.

Godparents Andy and Kristen were able to attend and we got to spend some time with their adorable new addition. Even the priest who Baptized her was present.

James' mom sent a package of these party favors and both Felicity and Cecilia took to blowing them at anyone they could.

Father gave the biggest reactions provoking the most party favor activity.

Ever ready for the Resurrection, he even played dead.

After my mom, brothers, and brother's girlfriend arrived in honor of Thanksgiving, Felicity was sung Happy Birthday again.

Felicity very generously let Cecilia help her open some of her presents again.

Her Uncle Jon and his girlfriend Olga bought her a puppet. She hasn't named it yet, but it really does look a lot like a Muppet, although all I have a picture of are his feet.

She got the DVD/Blu-Ray set of the Toy Story Trilogy and a figurine set of one of her favorite movies Beauty and the Beast.

Uncle Jon and Olga's card came with a crown, perfect for my little princess.

Grandma and Grandpa's card had a feature I've never seen before. After going to a website and allowing the webcam to connect and holding the card to face it, an animated castle popped up with 3 videos of different princesses inside. Felicity had fun flipping from princess to princess.

Grandpa and Cecilia doing a "See Inside" Noah's Ark puzzle Felicity got for her birthday.

As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging; and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." And he cried, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" And Jesus stopped, and commanded him to be brought to him; and when he came near, he asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?"He said, "Lord, let me receive my sight." And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. ~Lk 18:35-43
