Sorry I haven't posted much this week. It has been an unusual week.
First of all, Cecilia finished all her school work by Tuesday. She thinks it would be great to do this every week. I'm skeptical, but I'll deal with that next week.
James mentioned earlier this week that, over the course of all our illnesses, our home had become invaded by another intruder: dust, and plenty of it. (Honestly, between the kids, school, gymnastics, co-op and the illnesses, I hadn't really noticed.)
Speaking of illnesses, Cecilia, Felicity, Elizabeth, Teresa and I came down with another head cold this week, a minor one, but still a cold. So we didn't go to co-op on Wednesday. This left Wednesday and Thursday completely open, with the exception of gymnastics.
SO.... I spent Wednesday dusting, polishing and vacuuming our bedroom and the girls' bedroom and then scrubbing, wiping, mopping and sanitizing our bathroom and the girls' bathroom. Thursday was spent dusting, vacuuming and straightening the stairwell, entry way and hallway (which, if you've seen our hallway, is no small feat - it is wide and long) and then food shopping before taking Cecilia and Felicity to gymnastics. Elizabeth came with me but only wanted to ride the elevator up and down and wouldn't let me watch her sisters at all. She won't be joining us for that excursion again. :)
So, Friday, today, I am going to vacuum, dust, polish and reorganize (a little) the dining room and living room. That should leave the kitchen and play room for tomorrow.
Besides, it isn't a half bad way to begin Lent with a nice cleaning of the house. I think of it as my Spring Cleaning. I figure, given how warm a winter we have had and the fact the daffodils are popping up and the ladybugs flying around (what WAS that groundhog thinking!?!?), might as well embrace Spring even if it is too early. (And it certainly won't hurt our illness epidemic either!)
