On Saturday we had a little birthday party for Brigid.
We kept it relatively small and very casual. We just invited my parents and Brigid's godparents and their kids, but between our kids and their kids we had 10 kids ready to party.
Teresa gave Henry rides in the car. I think she only crashed him once, which, for her, is impressive.
Brigid and Henry are always so cute together.
Henry seems to be explaining something about the Doc McStuffins thermometer.
Brigid comforts Henry.
We picked up cupcakes from our local bakery.
But told the kids they couldn't have any if they didn't pose for a picture first. 10 kids ages 7(almost 8), 7 1/2, 6, 5 1/2, 4 1/2, 3(almost 4), 2 3/4, 1 1/2, 1 and 4 months.
Brigid seemed a bit confused by the lit flame and sudden absolute attention with singing by everyone.
But she got into it. Teresa helped her blow out her candle, though.
At first she would only eat little dabs of icing, so daintily.
One finger tip at a time.
Then, once she declared the cupcake good, she decided on a more aggressive approach.

Henry was a great inspiration to Brigid.
He was the one who showed her how it was done.
Josiah and Cecilia seemed to compete in goofy faces every time we tried to get their pictures.
For a 2 year old, Teresa actually didn't get that messy. She is definitely getting better.
Brigid's godfather and the youngest guest, Susanna.
Lydia showed her cupcake who was boss.

So, who wins best cake face? Henry?
I think they were so happy with their cake, they're re content to declare it a draw.
Brigid loved the colorful wrapping paper, but all her friends loved helping her open all her presents.
She got a picture book about Mary and a Children's picture Bible.
And a puzzle of her name. (Each of the girls have one and we use them to teach them how to spell and write their names.
Brigid's godmother crocheted her this adorable penguin hat, so, so cute!
She also got a comforter and protector and pillow and protector for when she is ready to move out of the crib. She isn't there yet, of course, but our girls have generally moved into beds around 18 months.
Brigid also got two St. Luke's Brush painted figures, St. Brigid of Kildare and St. Lucy, which will be kept by her crib until she is older.
Brigid is going through a phase when she likes to put things on her head, so she as happy. To wear her hat all over the house for quite a while.
Everyone had a good time and slept well last night.
Happy 1st Birthday, Brigid!
