Seven Quick Takes

A new season of Hell's Kitchen begins next Thursday. S.H.I.E.L.D. picked back up this week. Once Upon A Time begins again Sunday.

Downton Abbey ends and all the others begin. In March. TV is weird.

If you aren't already, pray for a little boy named Ben Sauer
For 4 1/2 years, Ben was a healthy boy with a twin brother and a little sister. In mid January, he began complaining of headaches. It was found that he had a brain tumor. A big one. An MRI, brain surgery and a pathology report confirmed a cancerous brain tumor, a Stage IV Glioblastoma. It is an adult cancer only .00002% of the population gets. At the end of February, he began an aggressive treatment plan of radiation and chemotherapy but by the beginning of March an MRI revealed that not only had the tumor not shrunk, but it had tripled in size. Doctors have sent him home saying there is nothing more they can do but try to keep him comfortable. This 4 1/2 year old boy who was healthy 2 months ago now has weeks to live. His parents are praying for a miracle. Please join in.

I got about 1 paragraph into Catherine's Dialogue. But I've already read 7 chapters in Lloyd Alexander's The High King! Sigh, not very Lenten, I know. But I began the Prydain series over a year ago, so it is still good news to me since this is the final book. I've enjoyed them but they aren't my all time favorites and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends but I also am looking forward to moving on.

I finally took down all of the decorative snowflakes hanging from the ceilings. I'm betting that means it won't snow anymore, which I know most people would cheer over... I'm just not as tired of winter as most people are. I like not having bugs out or getting hot and sweaty. I enjoy snow cones and how beautiful everything looks dressed in white. And I even love the trees bare... I love the symmetry of the branches and the silhouettes against the sky at dawn and dusk. I wouldn't mind Spring and tulips and daffodils at this point, but I wouldn't mind more snow either.

Teresa and Brigid have been simply adorable this morning. They have been best buddies. Teresa asks Brigid to play with her constantly and will even just come plop down next to her and say, "Brigid, what you doing?" This morning I saw the two of them sitting side by side playing with a keyboard while both of them shook their heads side to side rapidly to the music. If I'd had my phone on me I would have filmed it.

Tomorrow is our AHG Daddy Daughter Dance. James will be taking Cecilia and Felicity. Hopefully I'll get at least a few pictures.

I think I should have saved some of my random updates from yesterday for my quick takes. I got nothin'.
