Well, Cecilia, Felicity and Elizabeth completed their 7 weeks of gymnastics classes and I was very impressed by their improvement. I have no preferences for them to be on any team, but I like the exercise and flexibility it gives them as well as teaching them balance and some basic tumbling skills.

At the end of the year, they hold what they call the Spring Fling where the kids get to show off their new skills and get "scored" and earn ribbons and a participation medal. Although I never really got any pictures of them in their classes, I did film their events at the Spring Fling. It just has taken a while for Vimeo to let me upload them all. :)

Elizabeth and Felicity on the uneven bars.

Cecilia on the uneven bars and Elizabeth's floor exercise.

Elizabeth and Felicity on the vault (with Teresa wailing in the background).

Felicity's floor exercise.

Felicity and Elizabeth on the balance beam.

Elizabeth and Felicity on the vault (again. I was so happy to finally get all these videos up, I didn't care what order they were in. :) )

Cecilia's floor exercise.

Cecilia on the balance beam (and, once again, Teresa background noise.)

Really poor footage of Cecilia on the vault.

Brigid got a bit bored towards the end and didn't want anyone but me to hold her. Hence the poor footage of the last video.

But my arms got tired, so we sat down and she played with the camera on my phone.

Who is that cutie pie? She loves looking at herself in the reverse camera.

The girls were ecstatic to line up for their medals.

They'd been counting down to receiving them and they were well earned.

Afterwards, a woman from the the center asked if Cecilia would be interested in trying out for their gymnastics team. Now, this place is a 30 minute drive from our house and practice would be for 2 1/2 hours 2 or 3 (I forget) times a week ending at 8:30. We wouldn't even get home until 9pm several nights a week and she is only 8. So I was happy when she said she had no interest. Honestly, gymnastics can be so demanding with so much potential for injury, it wouldn't be my preference for any of my kids to join a team. I was on swim teams, softball, volleyball, and basketball teams but serious gymnastics make me nervous, especially for a child so young.

Now the girls are on to swim lessons. I'm not sure, with a new baby this fall, if they will be doing anything this fall, but we will see.
