July Learning Notes I

After we got back from our trip, we went on mission to make the most of our remaining Summer break.

We went to a children's holy hour and adoration and met some new families playing on playgrounds afterwards.
It became a ritual for 3 weeks to go every Tuesday and then swing by Culver's afterwards for at least ice cream if not lunch.
And I took the kids on a couple of field trips. The first was to the Circus World Museum in Baraboo. It has several historic buildings as it was the winter home of the Ringling Bros.
It was very interesting. There were exhibits on how they made music in the circus 100 years ago as well as original carriages used in circus parades.
Outside the kids played and we saw the tiger show. The tigers were just gorgeous!
Displays represented circuses of years ago, depicting the history of circuses and provided examples of various circus costumes.
Across the bridge we went into the Big Top Tent and saw their circus show. It was so much fun, the kids absolutely loved it!
Afterwards the kids went on pony and elephant rides. Brigid was over the moon riding the elephant and Thomas adored his very first pony ride!
Afterwards they played on old circus trucks and then the playground and the carousel. It was Thomas' first carousel ride and he was terrified the whole time.
There were also many gorgeous original circus wagons!
We finished our visit on the bounce house. It was a very, very fun outing but significantly more expensive than I expected, so while I do recommend it, we won't be going back for a while.
