Monday was my birthday, so we went out to eat at Cracker Barrel and the kids played checkers.
On Tuesday, the Archdiocese had a special Mass of Hope and Healing for those who have suffered a miscarriage or stillbirth. We all went and honored and remembered Christopher, though the younger ones struggled to be good.
I also pulled the remaining carrots from our garden since the weather was expected to turn very cold. They were small but we enjoyed them with a roast on Wednesday night.
On Thursday we drove out to Mt. Horeb, the troll capital of the world, and had lunch at The Grumpy Troll.
Then we drove just a bit more west and went to the Cave of the Mounds.
The kids did a fossil dig, toured the very impressive cave and sluiced for gem stones.
