Learning Notes: Week 21

We had a very busy week. The following week I was still tired from it.

On Monday we read the 17th chapter of Matthew and then Teresa and I went over the sacrament of Confession some more in the 19th lesson of Faith and Life. Then we began our history unit on the Renaissance artists. We read The Art of the Renaissance for a general overview.
Cecilia's answer to question 21.
On Tuesday we read the chapter on Giotto in Knights of Art and then Paolo Guarnieri's A Boy Named Giotto, Lucia Corrain's Masters of Art: Giotto, and Madeline L'Engle's The Glorious Impossible.

On Wednesday we read Knights of Art's chapter on Fra Angelico, Gabriele Bartz' Fra Angelico, Tracey Fern's Pippo the Fool about Brunelleschi's dome, Gates of Paradise by Gary M. Radke about Ghiberti's amazing bronze doors, and Simone Ferrari's Van Eyck: Masters of Art. Then we painted our own copy of Fra Angelico's Annunciation.

On Thursday, after Cecilia's and Brigid's wellness checks, we read our zoology lesson on whales and dolphins and Bonnie Worth's and Aristides Ruiz's Whale of a Tale!: All About Porpoises, Dolphins and Whales. Then we looked through DK Eyewitness: Whales.
Felicity's Narwhal
On Friday we played Multiplication Bingo and then made clay whales and dolphins for our ocean boxes. That evening we went to Candlemas and got our beeswax candles blessed. I took all six kids by myself and no one caught fire!
